Notes

  • I plan to do a VR version in the future.
  • You are welcome to post game play video on social networks.
  • In third-person mode the camera sometimes clips on narrow passages but first-person mode does not clip as much. This is a free game so I don't have time to try and fix this.
  • My 24th game.

Land topography

I tried to get an actual height map of the area, but couldn't get it to work, so I estimated land topography. It does not make much difference to the game experience because the land in this area is mostly flat anyway.

Sphinx

I added the Sphinx so you can see the size and location. It was too much work to make it realistic so I made it a block model that is climbable.

Buildings

The buildings and race track don't exist at the real pyramid complex but were left in from the original map for atmosphere.

There are some real structures at the pyramid complex such as a Road, Causeway, Boat pit, Funeral Temple, Cemetery, Builders' quarters. I might add some of these real  structures in future versions.

Stone Blocks

The great pyramid has an estimated 2.3 million stone blocks so it would be impossible for me to manually recreate each block of the pyramid; therefore, I used materials to approximate the look. The stone material I used looks too rough because much of the inside looks more smooth like cement.

There are some proprietary data scans of the pyramids but I don't have access to that data.

Subterranean Pit

I was confused about how deep the pit is.

I made the first square hole 2 meters by 3 meters deep. I made the second square hole 1.5 meters by 12 meters deep. I extended the first hole by 1 meter because of the thickness of the floor so the total depth is 16 meters.

Subterranean Dead-end Corridor

  • The length is 11 m (36 ft) plus 5.4 m (18 ft). I used 16 meters plus the 1 meter wall will be a total of 17 meters long which is 0.6 meters more than 16.4 meters.
  • The hole size is 0.75 m (2.5 ft) squared. I used 1 meter wide by 1.25 meter high because this is the minimum size for the character to fit while crouching.

Ascending Slope27.62°26.041667° and 26.277778° grand gallery

  1. I used stairs but the real pyramid has no stairs.
  2. I have the entrance on the south side but it is on the north side on the real pyramid. I could easily change it and put the entrance on the north face if I wanted to but I put the entrance on the south because the character starts on the south side going north. Once you are inside you can't tell the difference.
  3. The slope is slightly off but you can't tell the difference.
  4. To make it simple I just used one slope instead of two and you can't tell the difference.
